Work-Life Balance Solutions that Thrive on the Triple Bottom Line
Busy working women who've set aside work-life balance because of the economic meltdown now have an opportunity to put some choice back into their lives and their spending, and do good at the same time.
Craving Balance, a Santa Barbara-based coaching and training company offering work-life balance coaching, teleclasses and clinics, has launched Set Your Own Rate and Donate to generate a triple-bottom-line win.
"Our program allows women to get the essential help they need to set goals, get their lives in balance, and activate their leadership while setting a rate that works for them," said company co-founder Lisa Gates.
"What's unique about our program is that our clients agree to donate 25% of the monthly coaching fee to a charity or nonprofit that advances women’s equality and women’s leadership. It's a win all the way around and we love it."
Citing the current economic meltdown, Gates said, "Of all the so-called luxuries women have set aside recently, work-life balance tops the list, followed by personal and professional development, training and coaching. The unfortunate fallout from all this belt tightening is that women are more stressed and overworked than ever before, and fewer dollars are making their way to the charities and fundraisers women are passionate about."
Craving Balance chose three organizations to launch Set Your Own Rate and Donate: Santa Barbara’s Women’s Economic Ventures, dedicated to creating an equitable and just society through the economic empowerment of women; the Global Fund for Women, a nonprofit grant making foundation that advances women's human rights worldwide; and Love146, dedicated to putting an end to child sex trafficking.
According to Gates, personal coaching fees vary widely throughout the country and range anywhere between $50 and $250 per session. "What we do is put the solution in our client's hands," said Gates. "Those who can afford our full rate end up helping those who can only afford a little. So far, it's worked out beautifully. Women are empowered and inspired personally, and making a contribution to the world. It’s great to be a part of that."
Best of all, enrolling in the Set Your Rate and Donate program involves no more than an email and a short phone call to discuss needs and goals.
"We're talking about balance here, so we want to make it simple and turnkey," said Gates. "The real reason we crave balance is that we want a life of purpose that benefits something bigger than ourselves. And as coaches, we want to walk the talk."
